The Grandeur of Reason: Religion, Tradition and Universalism
The Centre of Theology and Philosophy (University of Nottingham) has put together a conference exploring the relationship between faith and reason to be held 1-4 September 2008 in Rome.
Keynote speakers include such luminaries as Giorgio Agamben, Remi Brague, David Bentley Hart, Stanley Hauerwas, Peter Van Inwagen, Fergus Kerr, EJ Lowe, John Milbank, Oliver O’Donovan, David Schindler, Robert Spaeman, and Slavoj Zizek. They are also calling for papers that cover any topic relevant to the conference theme, but are especially interested in questions of religion and empire, Christianity and Islam, humanism and universalism, the reunification of the Apostolic Churches, and Scripture and Metaphysics.
